Convertly — Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 12, 2026

Convertly is a unit converter app. Conversions run entirely on your device and work offline. The app collects a small amount of anonymous usage and crash data to decide what to build next — and you can turn that off inside the app at any time. It also shows a single ad banner at the bottom of the screen, which is what pays for the app.

What we collect

If sharing is left on, Convertly reports the following through Google Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics):

Separately, and regardless of the sharing switch, Google's ad network receives the following in order to fill the banner: your device's advertising ID, your IP address, your interactions with the ad itself, and diagnostic information about the device and app. Google uses it to select and measure ads and to detect fraud. Convertly never sends your conversions, the numbers you type or your searches to the ad network.

What we never collect

There are no user accounts and no sign-in, so nothing we collect is tied to an identity. The app instance identifier is regenerated if you reinstall the app or clear its data.

Turning it off

Open the gear icon in the top right of the app and switch off Share usage and crash data. That stops both usage reporting and crash reporting immediately, and it stays off across restarts and updates. Every conversion feature keeps working exactly the same. This switch covers analytics and crash reporting only — the ad banner is governed by the separate choice described below.

Who processes it

Google processes the analytics and crash data on our behalf through Firebase, as our service provider. It is transmitted over an encrypted connection. We do not sell it and we do not pass it to data brokers. Google retains it for the limited period configured in our Firebase project and deletes it automatically afterwards. See Firebase's privacy documentation.

The ad banner is different: there, Google acts as an advertising network in its own right rather than purely on our behalf, so the data listed above is shared with Google for advertising. See how Google uses data from sites and apps that use its services.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data, stops all future reporting and detaches you from the identifier already collected. If you want data already collected removed, email us at the address below and we will delete it.

Advertising

Convertly shows one ad banner at the bottom of the screen, served by Google AdMob. There are no full-screen ads, no ads between conversions, and no rewarded ads. Nothing you type — amounts, results or searches — is ever sent to the ad network.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Convertly asks for your choice about personalised advertising the first time you open it, using Google's consent form. You can change that choice at any time: gear icon → Ad privacy options. Where local law does not require that choice, the entry is not shown and ads may be personalised using your advertising ID; you can limit that from Android's own settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads).

Children's privacy

Convertly is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
